East Brunswick
Youth Council

Activities: School and Education

School Issues/Education addresses any school issues that may be brought up.

The committee also sponsors an alcohol and drug awareness program each year at the high school in the Spring.
Youth Council needs volunteers to “man the table” for Alcohol Awareness Week.  The table will be set up May 24-28. This counts towards your community service hours.

The table will have a display and brochures on it.  We will be handing out keychains that say “If I Get Drunk & Shouldn’t Drive Take These Keys & Keep Me Alive.”  Students will be able to sign a pledge sheet and put a leaf on the “Tree of Life.”  Each leaf on the tree represents one person and their commitment not to drink and drive or get in a car with a driver who is intoxicated.  Students also get a lollipop that says “Don’t Be A Sucker For Drugs”.

If you can volunteer during your lunch period, please RSVP to EBYouthCouncil@aol.com.  When replying please include what lunch period you have.

This counts towards your community service hours.
